Steve Platman

PRESIDENT/CEO

Steve founded ITS with his father Mel, and oversees all of the company’s operations. He has over 23 years of experience selling, managing and implementing enterprise software solutions. Steve started his career as a founder of International Trade systems in 1989. To expand his breadth of experience, Steve joined ABC Technologies in 1995, heading up both Sales Engineering and Product Management in his tenure. In this position, he worked with many world class organizations including Coca Cola, the US Army XVIII Airborne, Bell Canada and Nestle. As an integral member of the management team, Steve helped ABC Technologies quickly grow to the largest provider of Activity Based Cost Management Solutions. In 1999, Steve joined WebTrends Corporation, a leading provider of web analytic software, as the head of their Professional Services organization. Steve’s team was responsible for implementation services and training of customers such as Zaaz, Kimberly-Clark, Kelly Blue Book and T-Mobile. Under Steve’s leadership, the team grew from $400K to $16M in revenue. Steve holds a Bachelor Degree from California State University Northridge. He has been a guest lecturer at the Harvard School of Business and has been a frequent speaker at industry events.

Steve is married with 2 college aged kids; Steve enjoys Triathlons, Swimming, Scuba Diving, and generally being active.

Al Koh

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Al is the ‘heart and soul’ of ITS software development team. He graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a degree in Computer Science; Al also minored in Mathematic in 1990. Al has over 20 years of experience in software development. He was the team leader in converting ITS, from a mainframe software system to the very first Microsoft Windows system for Freight Management in 1990, at this time, Al became an expert with  Microsoft programming languages Visual C++ and SQL database. Today, Al has led the effort to upgrade ITS to the Web becoming an Expert in C## and  Silverlight.  Al is passionate about his work, has been with ITS for more than 20 years and will do ‘whatever it takes to get the job done’.

Al Koh is married with 2 kids, a 12 years old girl and a 14 years old boy. In his spare time Al Koh is a badminton champion and can be viewed winning tournaments at http://www.youtube.com/user/alkoh988

Al also likes swimming, singing karaoke, and ballroom dancing.

Deena Platman

DIRECTOR OF CLIENT SERVICES

Deena oversees user support, training and corporate communications for ITS. She began her career at ITS in 1989, working alongside Steve during the inception of the company. With the completion of a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 1996, Deena embarked on a two-decades long career as a transportation planner, specializing in freight mobility and transportation technology. She managed freight mobility programs for both the City of Portland Oregon and Metro, Portland’s regional government agency. She led the creation of the both strategic freight plans for the City and the region of Portland, a first for each agency. Deena managed Metro’s Regional Mobility program, responsible for advancing transportation technology initiatives in the Portland region. Prior to returning to ITS, Deena served as a Principal with DKS Associates, a transportation planning and engineering firm. In this role, she led the Freight Planning and Transportation System Management and Operations Planning business lines, managed an 11-person team, and conducted numerous planning studies to enhance freight mobility and transportation technology. Deena has a deep knowledge of the freight transportation system and an understanding of the issues facing surface transportation. She currently chairs the Oregon Freight Advisory Committee; and previously served on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Regional Transportation System Management & Operations Committee, TRB Freight Subcommittee, and TRB RTSMO Planning Subcommittee. Deena holds a MURP from Portland State University and a BA in Political Science from UCLA.

Deena has two adult children and two furry ones. For fun, she races on a dragon boat team, paddles kayaks, runs, cycles, hikes, and snowshoes. And she loves to read.

Alan Bernstein

CLIENT SERVICES

Alan Graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1995 with a bachelor of Business degree after the end of his enlistment in the United States Army. Alan has been with ITS since 1997, in the primary role of supporting and training our customers. Throughout his years with ITS,  Alan has been through many software rollouts, including the  transition from a strictly software company to Software as a Service, the ACE development from Customs and Border protection, and all general releases of our software.  Alan is part of the ACE development team with Customs, and attends the annual Wesccon conference to further our industry knowledge. Alan’s greatest passion is helping clients and giving them knowledge to be successful with the system.

Alan resides in Santa Monica, CA and is married with 3 children, during his off time, he enjoys, walking, reading, photography, and travel.

Michael Tan

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Michael Tan is a world class developer. He has his degree in Computer Information Systems from California State University Long Beach Michael has a deep understanding of C, C++, MFC, C#, WHS, Silverlight and data integration. Mike is an expert in ABI, ACE, and AMS, his expertise has been a great asset to our client’s projects. In addition, Michael communicates fluently in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Minnan.

In his spare time, Michael loves to sit down and read a good book, relax, enjoy the cinema, and catch some fresh air with a good hike.
